Because milk is considered a percentage of water and electrolytes along with sodium and potassium that keeps the body hydrated with fluid. It is counted as water intake. Do you think milk count as water intake?

I don't believe it does, if you want to stay hydrated you should stick to drinking water. Skim milk has some sugar in it, not as much as flavored milk but you should stick to water if you need to stay hydrated.

I don't think so either, since it's rather a thicker liquid and not count as much.

Growing up, I was always told that milk does not quench your thirst and that it is always better to drink water than milk if you are feeling thirsty.

It actually does if you eat something hot.

I do know that eating something spicy, milk is a great thing to drink, as it can help. It's one of the reasons why I can't eat anything too spicy, as I can't stomach the taste of milk on its own or even flavoured milk.
