One of the obstacles faced when trying to create awareness about mental health is the misconceptions harboured by a lot of people about mental health. One is the belief that mental health issue makes one violent and destructive. These misconceptions make it difficult for anyone having mental health issue to seek help. It has actually been proven that the relationship between mental health and aggressive behaviour is little. It is important we educate people around us and correct their erroneous beliefs about mental health.
Please feel free to share any misconception about mental health that you know.

Mental health.... is a long and winding maze. It can lead to some people being mean spirited, but most tend to be lost and confused.

Mental health comes in many different forms. Yes some people might be destructive, others are constantly battling a inner fight with anxiety, ocd and depression. You never know what someone is going through. It could be something they've been fighting for years or a life changing event can trigger it.

This thing is way less in the US then in many other countries. In fact, there are plenty of agencies to use as a protection against job discrimination etc..

But that's not saying there are countries with zero disability prejudice, though.
