Sensory Sensitivity & Mental Health: How do lights, sounds, textures, etc., impact your mood or anxiety level?

Those information our senses receive from the environment can be harmful to our mental well-being. What we see, touch, smell, hear or taste could trigger some emotions which impact our mental health. For example, bright lights at night can make it difficult for me to sleep-losing sleep can lead to mental health issue. Also, noisy environment can make me unsettled or a bit anxious. All these things really count. Do you have any sensory triggers that you avoid or try to minimise? Let's learn from one another.

I have found out that whenever I am in an environment that is disorderly, I find it difficult to focus. On the other hand, gentle music or friendly lighting calms my nerves and energise me.

Sometimes loud noises can trigger my anxiety and I need to get out of that environment. It was tough working in a loud factory for five years, not just for that though. But that didn't help.

I know I have to be careful around lights, they can trigger headaches and migraines in me.

Well, they say prisons are designed a certain way and also hospitals. What's the point of it? Well, apparently they want to punish prisoners via a depressing color scheme and lack of sunlight.
