This is an honest talk and I'm going to be honest as much as possible. I hate how I look in mirrors and the social media makes it worse. So, I want to know how y’all silence that inner critic? Do affirmations work?

For me, I try to focus on what my body can do. I do not bother how it works. I also use affirmative statements to help boost my mood and I surround myself with positive people. I don't want negativity in my life.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I began with daily affirmations. When I first started out, it sounded absurd to me, but eventually, I benefitted from it. In addition to that, unfollowing negative social media accounts made a difference in my life.

I would not look in mirrors before because I was always not satisfied with my look, but now I look at them with affection. Therapy made me know that the value of people is not based on appearance. And positive self-talking works too.
