How to deal with negativity

Negativity steals joy and motivation. It's as a result of the fact that we want to defend ourselves from the disappointment we encountered. So, it's necessary to shift from a negative mindset which can be done by recognizing toxic thoughts and making sure that we ponder on our thoughts before reacting.

However, we can also deal with negativity by replacing criticism with gratitude and comparison with self compassion. We need to choose a positive environment and say words of affirmation to ourselves often as this will make us see challenges as stepping stones to our success.

Yes, nothing is more useful than replacing your negative thoughts with positive ones in order to leave the negative side of life. It's probably the best thing to do.

Another way to counter this is to limit the number of negative people we keep in our lives, and to surround ourselves with positive people and those that can help us lower the level of negativity and encourage optimism

I try to ignore it, if you think on something too much it just becomes worse.

I ignore negativity from others. Sometimes this can be difficult, but I find if I get lost in my hobbies it helps me get away from the negativity.

Negativity drains joy and motivation; overcoming it requires recognizing toxic thoughts, practicing gratitude, self-compassion, positive affirmations, and choosing uplifting environments.
